Philippines - stop 5

Pinay Loving

The Philippines is an archipelago in Southeast Asia.
The nation consists of 7,107 islands located between the Philippine Sea and the South China Sea, right on the eastern edge of Asia. Combine all its beaches it forms one of the world's longest coastlines and it would take a lifetime to visit and experience every island.

Since Spanish colonial times, the country has been considered to be Asia's largest Catholic country.

With over a hundred ethnic groups, a mixture of foreign influences and a fusion of culture and arts have enhanced the uniqueness of the Filipino identity.

The Philippines has a population estimated at 96 million. From its long history of Western occupation, 300 years by the Spaniards and 30 years by the Americans, its people have evolved as a unique blend of East and West in both appearance and culture. Filipinos are largely Austronesian (more specifically Malayo-Polynesian) in terms of ethnic origin.

However, many people, particularly in the cities of Luzon and the Visayas, have Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Spanish and American mixtures, whereas those living in the provinces are mostly of pure Austronesian origin (known as "native"). Many Muslims in the Sulu archipelago near Borneo have Arab, Indian and Chinese mixtures. The four largest foreign minorities in the country are as follows: Chinese, Koreans, and Indian, and the Japanese. Also of significance are the Americans, Indonesians, and Arabs. Pure Spaniards and other Europeans form a very small proportion in the country's population.

Filipinos are amongst the most hospital and friendly people I have ever meet, always smiling, always friendly and generous in their nature. A really..really nice people.

On the down side poverty is a big problem and with poverty comes all the usual problems for uneducated poor woman. Couple that with the fact that both divorce and abortion being illegal, you have a lot of pretty downtrodden and abused women/ girls. It comes as no great surprise all “patriarchal” (which maybe 99% are) societies are from the USA on, all place women in positions of inferiority. Once this is reinforced by poor education and religiously based laws , restricting their ability to control their bodies (birth) or aspects of marriage, you will get a lot of unhappy women.

But as we know most men usually marry to continue their gene’s. The happiness of their wives concerns them very little, for there are plenty of mistresses and bar girls to have fun times with. It appears religion, although adhered to rigorously in regard to it’s application to women and their behavior, does not apply equally to men, an example being the complacent attitude towards husbands cheating on their wives.
Although certainly not unique to the Philippines as we see this in the USA to, poverty amplifies this terribly.(sorry a little off topic, but worth saying)

The LGBT scene is good, Gays and lesbians are generally tolerated, if not accepted, within Filipino society, but there is still widespread discrimination. The most visible members of the Filipino LGBT culture, the Bakla, are a distinct group in the Philippines.

According to the 2002 Young Adult Fertility and Sexuality Survey, 11% of sexually active Filipinos between the ages of 15 and 24 have had sex with someone of the same sex.

Filipino poet and critic Lilia Quindoza Santiago has speculated that Filipino culture may have a more flexible concept of gender because kasarian, the Tagalog word for "gender", is defined in less binary terms than the English word gender. Kasarian means "kind, species, or genus". The English word gender originally also meant "kind".

However we found that there are few websites to search for where are the best places to go.

So after we landed in Cebu, we found K2 ‘s house and moved in.
The maid went shopping and did some housework stuff, while I called the agency and the photographers to let them know I had arrived and arranged the times to meet up.

I contacted the stylist and makeup girls to discuss ideas. I'm looking forward to getting some work and the money will certainly be useful.

My first impressions of Cebu are very positive , it seems like a really nice, friendly place.

Cebu has many great clubs and bars, some fully gay or lesbian others mixed. Navigators is my favorite bar so far, packed full of delicious eye candy from all over the world. Vudo Is a good club (mixed) but always a lot of pretty lesbians there.
