New Zealand Stop - 2

NewZealand

STAR RATING 3.5

New Zealand is a small country. About the size of Great Britain, Colorado or Japan, New Zealand has a population of only four million people.
New Zealand's spectacularly beautiful landscape includes vast mountain chains, steaming volcanoes, sweeping coastlines, deeply indented fiords and lush rainforests.
A temperate climate with relatively small seasonal variation makes it an ideal year-round holiday destination. The average maximum temperature ranges from 20-30°C. In the north, it’s sub-tropical and in the south it is clean and brisk.
Maori were the first to arrive in New Zealand, journeying in canoes from Hawaiki about 1,000 years ago where they set up a thriving tribal society that thrived for hundreds of years.
In 1840, the Treaty of Waitangi was signed, an agreement between the British Crown and Maori. It established British law in New Zealand, while at the same time guaranteeing Maori authority over their land and culture. The Treaty is considered New Zealand’s founding document.
New Zealand has a rich and fascinating history, reflecting both it’s Maori and European heritage. Amazing Maori historic sites and taonga (treasures) are a contrast to many beautiful colonial buildings. A walk around any New Zealand city today shows what a culturally diverse and fascinating country it have become.

The LGBT scene is active with numerous clubs, pubs, spas, bathhouses and websites catering to the LGBT community.
I found the websites very useful in both gaining information and meeting people.
The flight from Brazil to NZ took about over 20 hours (1 stop over), very boring and I arrived in Auckland a little grumpy. Checked into my hotel room, changed and headed to the pool, I needed a swim very badly. I spent about an hour in the pool then headed back to my room to get on the laptop and catch up with things.
After talking briefly with Mia we confirmed where and when to meet tomorrow. I watched a movie and feel asleep.

Bored out of my mind in Santiago Arturo, Chile.
